by. Sapphire Skye Toth - Orkest Artistic DirectorAnne Louise is an artist whose work captures the beauty of nature. From life to death. From winter to summer. From the great big sky to the littlest spider. She’s an artist who cares for the whole world, and it shows in her day job as an urban designer and in her active life as a photographer, a composer, and singer-songwriter. If you have been at any of our concerts since November, 2025 you’ve either seen Anne on stage or behind the camera — we’re damn lucky to have her.
Anne’s first Orkest performance was as a composer for our Call For Scores Concert at the ROOTED Armory Cafe with DREAMGLOW and Violet Blitz Sound. Her piece, “When I Leave” was a crowd favorite (and is now available for streaming on her self-released album “Before the Green Returns”). What struck me about this piece is how it tells a simple story with great emotional depth. Her use of the intervals between the pitches in a chord shows an artistic maturity that is unexpected but greatly welcomed.
Anne went on to perform with us again at our concert with Gallery 263 in March, featuring her pieces, “Copper, Yellow, and Blue,” (also on “Before the Green Returns”) and “Cobwebs” (available to stream as a single).
Performances of Anne’s music leave audiences with goosebumps and the feeling as if a shawl scented with macarons has been wrapped around you by your favorite person (unless you have a nut allergy, because that probably actually doesn’t feel comforting). I’m so excited to have Anne as a frequenter on our programming for Season 3.
If you love The Wildwoods, Lizzie McAlpine, and The Weepies (or just New England) then Anne Louise should be the next addition to your rotation.
